A critical survey and initial assessment of the flood affected areas of Nowshera and Charsadda in KP was carried out by Waleed Arshad of the Communications Department, Alight Pakistan. He joined a Doctors Worldwide (DWW) team consisting of Monowara Gani and Alan Duncan.
Waleed reports back that the conditions are very difficult. A large number of people are in immediate need of clean drinking water, food, shelter and medical facilities. They have received limited assistance, but their needs are greater than the help they have received.
After the initial survey and assessment, Alight has activated the provision of assistance to the flood affectees in the areas identified. This assistance will be ongoing, as the needs are likely to persist. Alight is surveying and assisting the most severely affected flood areas on a continuous basis.
